Commissioned by the Alcochete Band (Portugal) and dedicated to António Menino, this is a work that reflects on memory, time, human connection, and the legacy that transcends death. The piece is structured in five sections:
The Initial Echo: It explores the idea of memory as a threshold between what once was and what continues to resonate. Music acts as a bridge between silence and intense emotion.
Memories: It describes how living memories, though fragmented and ever-changing, shape our identity. The music reflects this dynamism through instrumental contrasts.
Connection: It pays tribute to António’s warmth and his ability to connect with others through gestures, teaching, and music, leaving an indelible mark.
Tempus Fugit: It reflects on the brevity and intensity of life. Time is fleeting, and death is not portrayed as a tragedy but as the natural conclusion of the journey.
The Legacy: It affirms that the end of a life is not an ending, but a continuation through the impact we leave behind. The resonance of what was lived endures.
